Job summary

Core States Group is seeking a skilled Permitting & Regulatory Compliance Specialist II to manage a defined caseload of permitting projects from initiation to approval. You will act as the main client liaison with agencies and internal teams to ensure timely, compliant outcomes.

You will review and submit permit applications, monitor timelines, and provide clear, actionable responses to agency comments. A hybrid remote/work setup is available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 4–6+ years of relevant experience in permitting, compliance, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage a defined caseload portfolio of permitting and compliance projects from initiation through approval.
• Serve as the primary liaison between clients, agencies, and internal teams.
• Prepare, review, and submit complete and accurate permit applications.
• Analyze and respond to agency comments with clear, technically sound responses and monitor project timelines and ensure all deadlines are met.
• Identify risks early and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
• Conduct regulatory analysis and interpret applicable requirements as well as coordinate across disciplines (engineering, design, environmental, etc.).
• Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding status, risks, and outcomes.
• Achieve strong client satisfaction and build & maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.
• Delegate defined tasks to Level I staff and provide clear direction as well as review junior staff work for quality and completeness.
• Contribute to process improvements and documentation of best practices.
