Job summary

Eide Bailly is seeking a People Operations Compliance Manager to lead the HR compliance function across federal, state, and local employment laws. This remote role focuses on policy administration, risk management, and workplace investigations while partnering with legal, payroll, and HR operations.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of HR compliance experience, strong communication, and a background in CA or WA regulations. A SC or SHRM certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, legal studies, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive HR experience with compliance responsibility.
• HR certification such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEOC, wage and hour).
• Strong policies, risk management, leave administration, and accommodations knowledge.
• Ability to analyze complex issues, exercise judgment, and provide business guidance.
• Excellent communication, training delivery, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing HR compliance programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate organizational risk.
• Interpreting and applying federal, state, and local employment laws; updating policies and processes.
• Guiding on employment law, policy interpretation, employee relations, investigations, and compliance matters.
• Overseeing leave management, return-to-work, and accommodations; manage teams.
• Leading compliance audits and reviews related to wage and hour laws, classifications, recordkeeping, and HR practices.
• Partnering with legal to ensure documents comply with laws.
• Overseeing regulatory reporting and confidential records.
• Collaborating with HR leaders, payroll, benefits, and HR operations to ensure compliant programs.
• Developing and delivering compliance training and resources.
• Rolling out annual state compliance training with Learning & Development.
• Identifying compliance risks, analyzing trends, and recommending improvements.
• Serving as a subject-matter expert and providing consultation on sensitive compliance matters.
