Job summary

Blue Signal Search is seeking an experienced HR Compliance Specialist to strengthen its employment compliance program across multiple locations. You will shape policies, support leaders, and ensure practices align with evolving laws.

The role balances strategic initiative with hands-on execution, requiring 3–5 years of HR experience, knowledge of FLSA/FMLA/ADA/EEO, and strong communication. Preference for SHRM CP or PHR certification and multi-location exposure.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of HR experience with significant exposure to employment law and regulatory compliance.
  • Working knowledge of Federal employment regulations including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and related state requirements.
  • Experience developing, updating, or administering HR policies, employee handbooks, and compliance documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and regulatory deadlines.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear policies and employee communications.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Professional HR certification such as SHRM CP or PHR is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor employment law developments and evaluate their impact across multiple states.
  • Maintain and enhance HR policies, employee handbook content, and governance documentation to support regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate compliance related activities including reporting, record retention, and recurring HR compliance calendars.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify compliance risks and recommend practical solutions.
  • Support internal reviews, audits, and documentation requests while helping maintain audit readiness.
  • Assist with employee relations processes by ensuring documentation and HR practices align with company policy and applicable employment laws.
  • Review and support consistent application of employee classifications and related employment practices.
  • Coordinate mandatory compliance training programs and monitor completion requirements.
  • Assist with compliant onboarding processes, including employment documentation and new hire requirements.
  • Provide guidance to managers regarding HR compliance questions and policy interpretation.
  • Contribute to broader People Operations initiatives and process improvements.

What You Bring
  • Approximately 3 to 5 years of Human Resources experience with significant exposure to employment law and regulatory compliance.
  • Working knowledge of federal employment regulations including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and related state employment requirements.
  • Experience developing, updating, or administering HR policies, employee handbooks, and compliance documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and regulatory deadlines.

  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential employee information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Experience supporting organizations with multiple locations or multi-state operations is preferred.
  • Background in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other field-based industries is helpful but not required.
