Job summary

S&S Activewear is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to support bi-weekly and ad hoc payroll processing across multiple states. The role partners with HR and Finance to ensure accurate wages, deductions, and tax filings while maintaining compliant records in a fast-paced environment.

Candidate should have 2–3 years of payroll experience, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of payroll principles. Remote work is available, with standard business hours.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of payroll processing experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Experience processing multi-state payroll and payroll tax filings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with payroll reporting, account reconciliations, and compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly and ad hoc payroll accurately and on time using the company’s payroll systems.
• Calculate wages, deductions, tax withholdings, retroactive pay, and other payroll-related modifications.
• Review and reconcile payroll data, including time records, bonuses, deductions, and other adjustments.
• Prepare and submit quarterly payroll tax reports and filings at federal, state, and local levels.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management and Finance.
• Monitor payroll laws and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Maintain accurate, complete, auditable payroll records and protect confidentiality.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay discrepancies and changes in withholding.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to resolve issues and improve processes.
