Job summary

Raintree Systems, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Payment Reconciliation Specialist to ensure deposits are posted accurately and reconciled daily, weekly, and monthly. This fully remote role focuses on timeliness and accuracy within a HIPAA-compliant workflow.

You will review logs, investigate discrepancies, and collaborate with payers and clients to resolve posting issues while supporting month-end close and other accounting tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of medical insurance posting experience.
• Knowledge of payer contracts and government reimbursement rules.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Google applications.
• Skilled in using computer applications for payment posting with an understanding of A/R follow up.
• Knowledge of insurance and reimbursement policies.
• Experience with medical billing software (Raintree Systems experience a plus).
• Experience in tasks requiring basic accounting and math skills.
• Proactive curiosity and basic AI fluency to identify efficiency gains.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain logs and spreadsheets used for reconciliation.
• Investigate, research, and resolve outstanding deposits.
• Identify and clear posting errors and follow ups.
• Participate in month end closing.
• Retrieve and post remittances from payor websites.
• Research unidentified payments and recoupment for resolution.
• Identify patterns indicating issues and notify leads or supervisors.
• Assist clients by answering inquiries and providing information.
• Reconcile daily cash deposits to the billing system and bank.
• Special projects and assignments as assigned.
