Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Customer Service Specialist for a contract-to-hire role based in Dallas with fully remote work. You will handle inbound and outbound calls, verify insurance, process orders, and educate patients on financial responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and EMR navigation skills are essential to succeed and deliver quality service to patients and healthcare providers.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced customer service environment.
• Ability to navigate multiple EMR systems to obtain documentation.
• Knowledge of insurance verification, pre-authorization, and patient financial responsibilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication for calls and emails.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain working knowledge of current products and services.
• Answer all calls and emails promptly to meet goals.
• Document call information according to SOPs.
• Answer questions about products, services, stores and general information.
• Process orders, route calls, and follow up as needed.
• Review documentation for accuracy.
• Verify and submit documentation and orders.
• Complete insurance verification to determine eligibility, coverage, and deductibles.
• Obtain pre-authorization when required by insurer and process physician orders.
• Navigate multiple EMR systems to obtain documentation.
• Enter and review information in EMR including authorizations and expiration dates.
• Communicate trends with insurance carriers to Customer Service and Management.
• Ensure insurance carriers are listed; request new carriers if needed.
• Contact patients if documentation does not meet payer guidelines and offer options.
