Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Services Specialist for a remote, full-time role. You will schedule patient care, manage referrals and pre-authorizations, and verify insurance while ensuring accurate EPIC documentation. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential.

Requirements include a High School Diploma and at least 1 year of medical/clerical experience. Proficiency with computers and Office apps is expected, with knowledge of medical terminology beneficial.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Minimum 1 year medical/clerical experience with customer service required.
• Proficiency in computers, typing, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent customer service with strong oral and written communication.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all aspects of patient care including registrations, referrals, procedures, and surgeries.
• Handle patient financial account services: benefit assessment, insurance verification, pre-certification, pre-authorization, pre-determination, and referrals.
• Ensure patient information and documentation are accurately entered into EPIC.
• Perform duties consistently with Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards.
