Job summary

Signature Performance, Inc. is seeking a Patient Financial Services Supervisor to lead hospital PFS operations, mentoring staff and driving improvements in cash collections, AR management and patient experience.

The role focuses on billing, denials, self-pay and reconciliation across HB/PB, with a national remote work option. You will oversee insurance follow‑up with multiple payers, monitor aging and deadlines, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve payer issues and optimize

Qualifications

• Experience supervising hospital Patient Financial Services or revenue cycle teams.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team.
• Knowledge of HB/PB patient accounts and payer processes.
• Strong data analysis and problem solving in multi-hospital environments.
• Experience with workflow optimization and standardization.
• Willingness to travel 15-30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily PFS operations for billing, insurance follow‑up, denials and appeals, self‑pay, cash posting, reconciliation, and final account resolution.
• Manage work queues, AR inventories, aging, unresolved accounts, unapplied cash, credits and backlogs; align work to volume and staffing.
• Monitor staffing capacity, workload, service levels; rebalance resources to maintain performance.
• Ensure timely, accurate execution of workflows, SOPs, payer requirements and documentation standards.
• Identify barriers and drive resolution affecting reimbursement and patient experience.
• Oversee insurance follow‑up across Medicare, Medicaid, commercial and other payers.
• Monitor aging, claim status, denials, underpayments, and filing deadlines.
• Identify payer trends and partner with stakeholders to address root causes.
• Support payer escalations with clear documentation and action.
• Oversee patient balance workflows, payment arrangements, financial assistance and self‑pay collections.
• Monitor self‑pay inventory, aging and inquiries; promote patient‑centered experience.
• Promote timely account resolution across HB and PB.
• Oversee cash posting and reconciliations; ensure ERA/EFT workflows meet standards.
• Lead, coach and develop PFS associates; monitor performance and provide feedback.
• Support onboarding, training and adoption of standardized processes.
