Job summary

Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a detail-oriented Patient Financial Counselor to support our Revenue Cycle Management team by helping patients understand financial responsibility and resolve balances.

You will collaborate with Intake and Finance to ensure accurate financial documentation, set up payment plans, and deliver compassionate communication to patients and families while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with regulations. This role is remote and requires EST hours.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years patient account resolution experience, preferably in behavioral healthcare.
• Strong understanding of insurance benefits and patient financial responsibility.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient responsibility payments including deductibles, copays, and coinsurance.
• Contact patients or authorized family members to resolve outstanding balances.
• Review AR for accuracy and support payment resolution.
• Document actions to reconcile balances and discrepancies.
• Coordinate with Intake to obtain signed financial documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with regulations.
