Job summary

Penn Medicine remote Access Center seeks a Patient Engagement Associate to support practices, affiliated physicians, and Penn Medicine programs. You will engage patients via phone, chat, and other channels for registration, scheduling, referrals, and communications.

The role requires empathy, strong customer service, and the ability to learn several protocols; a private, secure workstation is required and HIPAA compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Required H.S. Diploma/GED with 1+ year of customer service or healthcare-related experience preferred.
• Experience using EMR/CRM systems.
• Must successfully complete/pass EPIC schedgistration training/tests

Responsibilities

• Handle call handling, chats, and digital inquiries while meeting service level goals.
• Schedule patient appointments accurately and provide instructions, directions, parking information, and necessary documents.
• Complete patient registration, verify demographic and insurance information, and manage authorizations for timely claims processing.
• Document patient needs and encounters in the EMR/CRM and route to the appropriate team.
• Support marketing/outreach by answering web requests and guiding patients to Penn Medicine programs.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain a private, secure workstation.
• Enhance patient experience and participate in service recovery as needed.
• Perform other duties to support the unit and health system.
