Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks a Patient Care Coordinator I to serve as a professional liaison among patients, families and care teams. This role uses multiple computer systems to facilitate complex scheduling and ensure smooth transitions across care settings.

You will support scheduling, triage, and information flow, while building trusted patient relationships to address individual needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Proficient in MS Word, email, and data entry in Windows environment.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Able to solve complex problems and manage patient needs.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure health care setting.
• Experience with Epic or scheduling software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all patient appointments related to treatment and outside referrals.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Interact with patients, families, providers, and staff to identify needs and resolve issues.
• Update patient and caregiver contact information in the EHR.
• Communicate scheduling needs to providers and staff; prioritize requests.
• Assist with training of new staff and cross-coverage as needed.
• Assist with financial clearance as necessary.
• Triage calls from physicians and patients seeking care.
