Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Patient Account Specialist to support inbound patient billing inquiries from a remote location within the United States. Responsibilities include explaining balances, processing payments, setting up payment plans, and guiding patients to MyChart and self-service options while documenting interactions in Epic.

Experience in healthcare revenue cycle and high-volume call centers is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior healthcare customer service or billing experience.
• Experience in a high-volume call center preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Epic experience preferred.
• Ability to handle sensitive patient conversations professionally.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound patient billing and payment-related calls.
• Explain account balances, copays, deductibles and coinsurance.
• Process payments and assist with payment arrangements.
• Educate patients on MyChart and self-service resources.
• Assist patients with financial assistance inquiries.
• Document all interactions within Epic.
• Escalate complex issues to the appropriate department.
• Deliver professional and compassionate customer service.
