Five Star Solutions is seeking a Patient Billing Specialist to support patients with payment processing, billing education, insurance verification, and claims inquiries. This remote role delivers empathetic, accurate, and compliant service while navigating healthcare billing systems and policies.

Starting at $15 per hour with a potential night/weekend differential, the position is full-time with paid training and benefits after 60 days; CST hours are 7:00 am–7:00 pm, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Customer service or call center experience.
• Healthcare billing, insurance, or claims experience preferred.
• Payment processing or financial transaction experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; additional billing or healthcare education a plus.
• Technical proficiency with EMR systems and standard computer applications.
• Ability to work independently in a remote or virtual environment.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Background check required in accordance with applicable laws.

Responsabilités

• Process patient payments via phone according to policies.
• Create and maintain payment plans following guidelines.
• Explain claim notes, balances, and outcomes to patients.
• Verify and update insurance information in the EMR.
• Educate patients on COB, deductibles, coinsurance, copays, timely filing, denials.
• Identify discrepancies and coordinate with teams to resolve issues.
• Navigate multiple systems while assisting patients.
• Uphold HIPAA, confidentiality, and security standards.
