Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a Patient Financial Services representative to provide patient relations support within the revenue cycle. You will identify and resolve billing inquiries, discuss payment options, and work to bring accounts to final resolution with sensitivity to patient needs.

The role requires strong customer service skills, the ability to deescalate disputes, and a solid understanding of hospital billing practices.

Qualifications

• 1 year of hospital or professional billing and/or collections experience with customer service and call center exposure.
• Strong analytic and prioritization skills with ability to understand payor contracts and billing policies.
• High School Diploma required; an associate degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, resolve and respond to customer inquiries, concerns and issues; follow up on accounts to ensure payment and resolution.
• Negotiate and document payment plans within established policies.
• Achieve timely and accurate account collection for hospital and professional services; initiate collection calls.
• Deescalate issues quickly and communicate effectively with patients, insurers, and third parties.
• Work independently and document activity clearly in the system; share knowledge with the team.
