Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a Patient Financial Services support specialist to identify, analyze, and resolve patient inquiries related to billing and collections. You will work with patients, insurers, and internal departments to ensure timely payment and accurate account resolution.

The role requires strong customer service, problem solving, and knowledge of billing systems. Candidates should have at least 1 year of billing experience, with additional cross-training in revenue cycle functions

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in business or related field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of hospital or professional billing and/or collection experience with customer service and call center experience required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and resolve patient inquiries and account issues within established policies.
• Follow up on accounts to ensure payment and resolution; research necessary to bring accounts to final resolution.
• Explain payor contracts and billing policies to patients and third parties.
• Negotiate and document payment plans within established policies.
• Initiate collection calls to patients and insurers to collect on unresolved accounts; route accounts for appropriate action.
