Job summary

Abax Health is seeking a Patient Access Concierge for a fully remote role in the United States. The incumbent will independently handle patient registration, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and prior authorizations with limited oversight.

Ideal candidates will resolve complex insurance and scheduling issues, mentor newer staff, and contribute to workflow improvements while maintaining high-quality patient experiences.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–4 years of Patient Access, Medical Scheduling, Registration, or related healthcare experience requested.
• Experience verifying insurance eligibility and obtaining prior authorizations with minimal guidance.
• Experience using Cerner EMR and handling commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid plans.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify demographics, insurance, and clinical data.
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and prior authorizations; resolve issues independently.
• Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments; serve as primary contact for escalations.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Identify workflow issues and suggest process improvements; participate in quality initiatives.
