Job summary

Abax Health is seeking a Patient Access Concierge to independently manage patient registration, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and prior authorizations from a remote, US-based setting.

You will resolve complex scheduling and insurance issues, mentor newer teammates, maintain compliant documentation, and collaborate with providers, payer contacts, and clients to ensure timely patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–4 years in Patient Access, Medical Scheduling, or related healthcare experience.
• Proven ability to verify insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations.
• Experience resolving moderately complex insurance or access issues with minimal guidance.
• Experience using Cerner EMR and MS Office.
• Knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collect, verify, and maintain patient demographic, insurance, and clinical information.
• Verify eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorization requirements.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments per guidelines; handle escalations.
• Maintain complete and timely documentation; ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Improve workflows and support onboarding of new team members.
