Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a Patient Service Representative for OBGYN to handle high-volume patient contact from a remote call center. You will screen, schedule and route calls, verify demographics, and obtain referrals and payer information while delivering professional service.

The role requires strong communication, 1–3 years of related experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. High school diploma or GED is required; associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• 1–3 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
• Bilingual written and verbal communication skills is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answers, screens and processes a high volume of calls in a professional manner.
• Uses centralized scheduling system and software applications to schedule appointments and verifies and updates patient information.
• Obtains necessary referrals for scheduled visits and documents payer information.
• Informs patient of necessary preparation for scheduled visit and coordinates required documents for procedures.
• Records and forwards accurate messages to providers and staff; triages urgent information to appropriate staff.
