Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Saint Paul, MN seeks a Patient Access Scheduler to pre-register and schedule patient appointments with empathy and efficiency. You will direct inquiries, coordinate with providers, and help patients navigate our complex system in a courteous, patient-first manner.

The role includes training for four weeks onsite at Midway, with subsequent remote work optional as duties allow. Shifts run 2:30 pm–11:00 pm (.8 FTE). A background in customer service is required.

Qualifications

• 2 years in a direct customer facing sales or service setting.
• Associate of Arts or completion of medical terminology program preferred.
• 2 years experience in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registering and scheduling patient appointments for assigned services at appropriate locations.
• Directs calls to appropriate area for services not provided in Patient Access Scheduling.
• Receives requests for information and ensures timely distribution of material.
• Schedules, admits, and pre-authorizes insurance for all patients in area assigned.
• Act as the first point of contact to provide empathetic and compassionate solutions and assist patients in navigating the system.
• Ability to work in a remote environment while maintaining quality and performance.
