Responsibilities

• Obtains patient consent for medical records and authorizations from managed care plans.
• Communicates authorization decisions with patients, staff and referring physicians.
• Schedules tests, procedures, follow-ups, and other services per doctor orders.
• Produces efficient, accurate schedules and reports.
• Records and updates schedule changes accurately.
• Monitors discharge status and coordinates discharge communications to the referring physician.
• Answers multiple telephone lines promptly and thoroughly.
• Participates in department decisions coordinating multi-area patient schedules.
