Job summary

The University of Southern California invites applications for a Patient Access Liaison II at USC Care Medical Group. This role serves as the primary contact for access to USC academic medical centers and coordinates scheduling, insurance verification, and patient communication.

You will answer calls, screen inquiries, schedule initial and follow-up appointments, register patients, ensure data integrity, and support care coordination with nurses and physicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of experience in a call center, customer service and/or healthcare environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and various health insurance types preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Bilingual: Spanish, Chinese and other languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for access to USC academic medical centers and USC Health Sciences Campus.
• Answer, screen and direct telephone calls, electronic messages, and other web-based communications.
• Schedule and confirm initial and follow-up medical appointments; register patients and verify insurance coverage.
• Perform data entry and maintain data integrity; reconcile records as needed.
• Coordinate care with patient coordinators, nurses and physicians to secure appointments.
