Job summary

Keck Medicine of USC in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Patient Access Liaison II for the Access Center. This full-time, 8-hour day position handles calls, scheduling, insurance verification, and data entry to support patients and providers.

You will coordinate with nurses and physicians, maintain HIPAA-compliant communication, use the call management system and Qgenda, and assist with remote-work guidelines as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years in call center or healthcare environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Ability to comply with HIPAA and privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact for access to USC medical centers. Handle calls, messages, and other communications per procedures.
• Schedule and confirm appointments; register patients and verify insurance.
• Perform data entry and ensure data integrity; reconcile as needed.
• Schedule, reschedule and confirm appointments; maintain patient records in scheduling system.
• Coordinate care with patient coordinators, nurses and physicians to secure appointments.
• Verify insurance coverage and inform patients of estimated financial responsibility.
• Follow USC/Keck standards; execute Service Recovery as needed and escalate appropriately.
• Maintain Call Management system and Qgenda; keep information accessible for management.
• Answer and direct calls, messages, and omni-channel contacts per departmental procedures.
• Maintain databases for bumps and cancellations; ensure high-quality work and customer service.
• Adhere to remote work guidelines when deployed; accept alternate assignments as requested.
