Job summary

Pirate Ship is a remote-first company seeking a Paralegal (First Mate of Legal Affairs) to support the General Counsel with contracts, IP, and governance. The role blends administrative precision with legal acumen in a fast-paced, creative setting.

You’ll manage documents, perform legal research, oversee IP matters, and help maintain governance records while coordinating with external counsel. Domestic travel is required; work remotely with the team via chat, voice, and video.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years paralegal experience in tech or law firm.
• Strong legal research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in drafting and reviewing legal documents.
• Proficient with MS Office, Google Suite, and legal research tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and revise contracts and other documents.
• Conduct legal research on regulatory, IP, and commercial topics.
• Assist in managing IP portfolio including trademarks and copyrights.
• Support corporate governance and policy development.
• Coordinate with external counsel and internal stakeholders; travel domestically as needed.
