Job summary

Pirate Ship, a remote-first ecommerce shipping software company, seeks a Paralegal to support the General Counsel with contracts, IP management, compliance, and governance in a fast-paced tech setting. This role blends administrative and legal tasks to keep the legal function effective.

You will draft and review contracts, manage documents, perform legal research, coordinate with outside counsel, and assist in governance while supporting policies.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of paralegal experience, preferably in tech or law firm.
• Experience with IP, contracts, and corporate law is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Keep Our Documents Shipshape: prepare, review, and revise contracts and legal documents; maintain organized records.
• Scout the Legal Horizon: conduct legal research on regulatory, IP, and commercial topics; monitor legislative changes.
• Help Safeguard Our Treasure: assist with IP portfolio, trademarks, copyrights, patents; coordinate with external counsel.
• Keep Our Governance on Course: assist governance matters; prepare meeting docs; maintain corporate records; support policies.
• Support the Rules of the Seas: organize documents; coordinate with outside counsel; provide general admin support.
• Paralegal will travel domestically on periodic business meetings.
• Work from home and connect with the crew via chat, voice, and video; share expertise to boost culture.
