UnitedHealth Group is seeking an SDS/Observations Medical Coder for a full-time, remote role across the United States. The position emphasizes CPT/ICD-10 coding for ambulatory observation with adherence to guidelines and client-specific rules.

Required are AHIMA or AAPC credentials, 2+ years in outpatient facility coding, and proficiency with Excel and EMR systems. Our team supports flexible telecommuting and competitive benefits.

Formación

• 2+ years of outpatient facility coding experience
• 2+ years of Same Day Surgery Coding experience
• 2+ years of ICD-10 experience
• Credential requirement from AHIMA or AAPC (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC or CPC-H)
• Proficiency with Windows environment including MS Excel and EMR systems

Responsabilidades

• Identify CPT and ICD-10 code assignments for outpatient Ambulatory Observation services following official coding guidelines
• Analyze and correct CCI Edits and Medical Necessity Edits
• Understand Medicare APC codes and apply appropriate coding
• Abstract additional data during chart review when coding
• Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge per QM Manager and Director of Coding/Quality Management
• Provide documentation feedback to providers and query physicians when appropriate
• Participate in coding department meetings and educational events
• Review and maintain records of coded charts and those held or missing
