Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Active AHIMA or AAPC coding credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC or CPC-H).
• 2+ years outpatient facility coding experience.
• 2+ years of Same Day Surgery Coding experience.
• 2+ years ICD-10 experience.
• Intermediate proficiency with Windows, MS Excel and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify CPT and ICD-10 coding for outpatient Ambulatory Observation services in line with guidelines.
• Analyze and correct CCI Edits and Medical Necessity Edits.
• Abstract data elements during chart review when coding.
• Maintain coding quality and productivity per guidelines.
• Provide documentation feedback to providers and query physicians when needed.
• Stay current with coding knowledge from QM Manager and Directors.
• Attend coding department meetings and educational events.
• Record coded charts and identify missing records.
