Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentials required.
• 3+ years of hospital coding experience.
• Proficiency with common coding specialties (Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions) and E/M leveling.
• Strong written and verbal communication; remote work experience.
• Experience in computerized encoding and abstracting software.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign and sequence codes based on documentation.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital reporting.
• Communicate coding issues to relevant personnel for follow-up and resolution.
• Maintain high coding accuracy and productivity standards.
