Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders to join our remote team. You will review medical records, assign accurate diagnoses and procedure codes, and ensure proper sequencing and discharge dispositions.

Ideal candidates have AHIMA or AAPC credentials, 3+ years of hospital coding experience, and proficiency with coding software. This fully remote role offers flexibility, ongoing education, and a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentials required (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CPC-H, CIC or CRC).
• 3+ years of hospital coding and/or coding consulting experience.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and assign discharge dispositions.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
