Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentials required (RHIA/RHIT/CCS or CPC family).
• 3+ years coding experience in hospital or consulting.
• Proficiency in major coding areas (SDS, Observation, Injections/Infusions, ED, E/M).
• Strong written/verbal communication and time management for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and assign discharge dispositions.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Identify and communicate documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and APC assignment accuracy; meet productivity standards.
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.
