Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Outpatient Auditing Specialist to address coding quality, compliance reviews, and education for external payer reviews. This fully remote role offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to shape healthcare data practices from your own workspace.

You will audit outpatient facility records, justify changes with detailed rationale, and stay current with regulatory updates while mentoring others and maintaining high accuracy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of outpatient facility coding experience and/or auditing.
• Maintains 95% accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs Outpatient Facility coding audits of medical records and abstracts using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
• Provides rationale explaining changes with references and documentation location.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases concurrently to ensure workflow and resolution.
• Provides coder education via the auditing process.
• Adheres to AHIMA's code of ethics.
• Demonstrates professionalism, flexibility and commitment to excellence.
• Displays strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills.
