Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Outpatient Auditing Specialist to support coding quality, compliance assessments, payer reviews, and coding education. The role is fully remote with a flexible schedule and focuses on ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding audits and justification of changes.

You will leverage Epic/Cerner EMRs, maintain high accuracy, and deliver professional guidance to clients while upholding AHIMA ethics and Datavant standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of outpatient facility coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS or RHIA/RHIT required.
• Maintains 95% accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs Outpatient Facility coding audits of medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
• Provides rationale explaining changes with references and documentation location.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases to ensure workflow and resolution.
• Provides coder education via auditing process.
• Adhere to AHIMA’s code of ethics and maintain professional conduct.
