Job summary

Signature Performance, Inc. is seeking an Outpatient Coding Auditor to ensure coding accuracy through audits and educational guidance. You will coordinate with managers to uphold organizational policies and improve documentation for reimbursement accuracy.

The role requires extensive ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS knowledge, audits across multi-specialty outpatient settings, and the ability to educate coders and staff on best practices. This is a remote nationwide opportunity.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal coding program with preference given to AHIMA and AAPC credentials (CCS, RHIT, CIC, CPC).
• 5+ years of progressive experience in professional medical coding/reimbursement.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS; medical terminology and anatomy.
• Understanding of coding guidelines, Coding Clinics and references for audits.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality reviews and audits, coordinate with department managers to ensure standards meet policies.
• Create clear audit findings and recommendations in written reports; deliver educational feedback to staff.
• Identify documentation issues impacting coding accuracy and propose documentation improvements.
• Provide guidance to departmental staff on resolving coding issues and error trends.
• Deliver continuing education on coding changes and reimbursement systems.
