Job summary

Signature Performance, Inc. is seeking an experienced Outpatient Coding Auditor to ensure accuracy in medical coding and documentation.

You will conduct quality reviews, generate actionable audit findings, and guide coders and managers toward improved compliance with policies and standards. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in professional medical coding, AHIMA/AAPC credentials, and familiarity with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT-4, HCPCS, and reimbursement systems.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal coding program; AHIMA and/or AAPC credentials preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in professional medical coding/reimbursement.
• National auditing credential preferred (CPMA) or ability to attain within 12 months.
• ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Create clear audit findings and recommendations in written audit reports for education across Coders, Auditors, Managers, and Directors.
• Identify documentation issues affecting coding accuracy and communicate opportunities for improvement.
• Provide continuing education to coding staff on changes in coding and reimbursement systems.
• Assist other staff in identifying and resolving coding issues and trend analysis for improvement.
