Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Outpatient Auditing Specialist to perform facility coding audits using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and modifiers, with strong rationale for changes. This fully remote role focuses on education, compliance, and auditing workflow optimization across healthcare clients.

You will stay current with regulatory changes, educate coders during audits, and uphold AHIMA codes of ethics while delivering professional service and leadership in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of outpatient facility coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS or RHIA/RHIT required.
• Maintains 95% accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs Outpatient Facility coding audits of medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers with appropriate coding references.
• Provides rationale explaining the changes with references and documentation locations.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases concurrently to ensure workflow and resolution.
• Provides coder education via the auditing process.
• Adhere to AHIMA’s code of ethics.
