Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Hospital Outpatient Coder I to remotely perform outpatient coding for clinic records, diagnostics and EMS. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance with ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS, and collaboration with CDI and billing teams.

A CPC-A or COC-A is required, with CPC/COC preferred. The position is full-time, remote within the United States, with a 40-hour work week and a pay range reflective of base compensation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Physician Coder Apprentice (CPC-A) or Certified Outpatient Coder Apprentice (COC-A) required.
• CPC or COC certification preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS; encoder/EMR familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Code outpatient services including Clinic Records, Diagnostic Services and EMS.
• Meet or exceed established quality and productivity benchmarks.
• Collaborate with CDI, billing and revenue integrity teams to improve documentation and reimbursement.
• Abstract data with high accuracy according to policy.
• Identify and address documentation gaps; communicate with providers as needed.
