Capital Health is seeking an Hospital Outpatient Coder 2 to assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, CPT/HCPCS procedures, and modifiers for outpatient encounters, ensuring accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines. The role involves querying clinicians when documentation is unclear to support proper reimbursement and reporting.

Candidates should have strong organizational and communication skills, knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, encoder usage, and EMR systems.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Physician coder (CPC) or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) preferred.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with productivity and quality standards.

Mansioni

• Codes outpatient services including ER, Same Day Medicals, and Same Day Surgical records.
• Meets or exceeds established quality and productivity benchmarks.
• Collaborates with CDI, billing, and revenue integrity teams to improve documentation and optimize reimbursement.
• Identifies documentation gaps and escalates when clarification is needed.
• Contacts providers or staff to obtain missing documentation timely.
