Job summary

Capital Health is hiring a Hospital Outpatient Coder 2 to accurately assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, CPT/HCPCS procedure codes, and modifiers for outpatient encounters. The role supports quality reporting and reimbursement, working remotely with eligibility limited to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Alabama.

The position requires a CPC or COC certification preferred, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting. 40 hours per week, full-time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Physician coder (CPC) or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS; encoder and EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Codes outpatient records including ER and outpatient services.
• Ensures complete, compliant coding to support accurate reimbursement.
• Collaborates with CDI, billing, and revenue integrity teams to improve documentation.
• Queries physicians or staff to obtain missing information.
• Maintains up-to-date coding credentials and knowledge.
