Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced and credentialed outpatient coder to join our team as a fully remote PRN role. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of outpatient coding, CCS/CPC or RHIA/RHIT credentials, and strong knowledge of Emergency Department, I&I, and facility leveling coding.

You will maintain high accuracy, meet productivity standards, and collaborate with hospital staff. The position offers a flexible schedule, access to education stipends, and required HIPAA testing.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentialing required (RHIA/RHIT/CCS or CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC/CRC)
• Minimum 2+ years hospital coding experience
• Proficiency in ED, Injections/Infusions, E/M leveling
• Strong written/verbal communication and time management
• Experience with Epic and Clintegrity preferred
• Remote work capability and HIPAA familiarity

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign codes for diagnoses and procedures
• Sequence codes accurately based on documentation
• Assign discharge dispositions
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital reporting
• Communicate documentation improvement opportunities to stakeholders
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and APC assignment accuracy
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials
• Participate in Datavant-sponsored education meetings
