Job summary

Community Care Cooperative (C3) seeks an experienced Outpatient Coder to join our billing and credentialing team. This remote role reviews ambulatory records of FQHCs to ensure codes align with documentation and payer requirements.

You will report to the Director of Revenue Integrity and help translate clinical data into payer-ready information while maintaining compliance with coding guidelines. Prior CPC and CPT/HCPCS experience are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPC certification required.
• 3–5 years CPT/HCPC outpatient coding experience, preferably multi-specialty.
• Epic experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes to encounters based on medical documentation.
• Ensures coding completed timely to meet billing deadlines.
• Assists in resolving incomplete/missing documentation to expedite billing.
• Communicates with providers to clarify coding questions.
• Performs claim edits and denial reviews related to coding errors.
• Identifies coding/documentation trends and reports to management.
• Stays updated on coding guidelines, payer policies, and industry changes.
• All other duties as assigned.
