Pride Health is seeking an experienced Outpatient Coder for a fully remote contract assignment. You will interpret records, assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes, and support ambulatory surgery and observation coding.

The role emphasizes accuracy, independence, and adherence to evolving coding guidelines. Requirements include 2+ years in hospital outpatient coding, experience with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4, and AHIMA CE credits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of current, full-time hospital outpatient coding experience.
• Strong experience with ambulatory surgery and observation coding.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4.
• Medical record abstracting experience.
• AHIMA CE credits current (continuing education).

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret patient medical records.
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes based on physician documentation.
• Code ambulatory surgery, observation visits, and special procedures.
• Abstract information from medical records and enter into EHR.
• Submit physician queries for documentation clarification.
• Collaborate with physicians and Clinical Documentation Specialists.
• Maintain a minimum 95% coding accuracy.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and regulatory changes.
