Remote Certified Coder - Healthcare Coding Specialist

Job summary

Community Care Physicians is seeking a Certified Coder for a full-time remote role, Monday–Friday. The coder will support multiple departments, practitioners, and staff with accurate charge entry and timely processing.

Requirements include at least one year in a healthcare setting, ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS knowledge, HIPAA compliance, and CCS/CPC credentials. Strong MS Office skills and prior remote work experience are preferred. Competitive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in an HMO/Managed Care or health care setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and chart review.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes, CPT, HCPCS.
• Experience coding using ICD-10-CM book without encoder software.
• HIPAA compliance and privacy of health information required.
• MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint required.

Responsibilities

• Timely input of charges in accordance with department needs.
• Maintain charge batch turnaround times as set by the department.
• Use web-based tools, coding books and resources to facilitate accurate charge entry.
• Assist in reducing denials by maintaining accuracy and following protocols.
• Process discrepancy reconciliation and closing of charge batches across systems.
• Respond to inquiries from provider offices and internal departments promptly.
• Manage Claim Edit Reports and Unassigned Money Reports.
• Comply with policies and procedures for the position and department.
• Aim for error-free work and compliance according to supervisor goals.
