Qualifications

• 5+ years of outpatient facility coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS or RHIA/RHIT certification is required.
• Maintains high accuracy in coding workflows (≈95%).
• Experience with Epic, Cerner and other EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs outpatient facility coding audits of medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and modifiers.
• Provides clear rationale with references and documentation locations for changes.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes in coding and AHIMA standards.
• Organizes multiple cases to meet department workflow and deadlines.
• Educates coders through the audit process.
• Maintains professional, efficient, positive interactions with customers.
• Adheres to AHIMA's code of ethics.
• Demonstrates strong organizational and leadership skills.
