Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services is seeking a Designer to perform detailed outside plant (OSP) and fiber network designs. You will work with engineering teams to create constructible GPON designs and support construction staff with safety and quality control, split between home-based work and occasional site visits.

The role requires a diploma in civil/electrical/telecommunications, 3+ years in OSP using AutoCAD, and strong skills in AutoCAD, MS Office, Google Earth, Bluebeam, and Adobe. GIS is a plus.

Qualifications

• College, Trade, or Technical Diploma (preferably civil, electrical/telecommunications, GIS).
• 3+ years in OSP telecommunications or related field using AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Google Earth, Bluebeam and Adobe. GIS is a plus. Strong organizational and planning skills. Ability to interpret construction documents and collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design fiber optic and copper OSP networks for projects such as FTTH deployments and commercial developments
• Work with power company and design power route and one-line schematics
• Manage growth and sustainment of existing networks, including relocations and infrastructure changes
• Perform quality control, field checks, and interpret OSP records
• Create system designs, BOMs, and provide construction quotes
• Conduct site walks for data collection and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Ability to adapt within a dynamic work environment
