Job summary

Cable One, Sparklight and our family of brands, seeks an OSP Designer II to create broadband system designs cost‑effectively while upholding our standards. Under general supervision, you will prepare detailed CAD/GIS design files and collaborate with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering.

This role requires an Associate degree with 5+ years in outside plant or GIS, plus knowledge of ESRI/Schneider tools, HFC and fiber symbology, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree with 5+ years related experience; outside plan design or GIS exp preferred.
• Proficient in ESRI and Schneider software per Cable One standards.
• Strong understanding of cable design and HFC/fiber symbology.
• Experience with telecom outside plant equipment, design, and construction.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Excellent written and verbal communication and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions and perform base drafting.
• Read walkout information and update as-builts after construction.
• Provide complete construction build packets with full design deliverables.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology as required.
• Create complex fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Manage fiber availability and reinforcement requirements; design major plant upgrades.
