Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to craft cost-effective broadband designs while upholding Cable One standards. You will draft, read walkouts, and update as-builts as construction progresses, collaborating with Technical Operations and Engineering.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree with 5+ years in outside plant or GIS, strong GIS/CAD skills, and a solid grasp of HFC/Fiber principles. Remote work possible for qualified applicants across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent plus minimum five years related experience; outside plan design, construction or GIS experience preferred.
• Experience with GIS apps such as ESRI and Schneider design software.
• Understanding of cable design and HFC/Fiber symbology.
• Familiarity with telecom outside plant equipment, design and construction techniques.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Ability to solve complex problems and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting and read walkout information.
• Update as-built files as construction completes and release areas.
• Provide complete construction build packet with full design deliverables.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology as required.
• Create fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Assess fiber availability and reinforcement requirements.
• Design major plant upgrades and redesigns as needed.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy.
