Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to create broadband system designs cost-effectively while upholding Cable One standards. The role involves CAD/GIS-based design, coordination with Technical Operations, Construction and Engineering, and maintaining design/digitizing standards.

The candidate will work with HFC and Fiber systems, update as-builts, and manage multiple projects with precision, potentially remote from approved states.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or university with 5+ years related experience.
• Outside plan design, construction, or GIS experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with ESRI GIS and Schneider design software per Cable One standards.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting and read walkout information accurately.
• Update as-builts as construction is completed and release area.
• Provide complete construction build packet with full design deliverables in a timely manner.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology as required.
• Create fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Assess fiber availability and reinforcement requirements.
• Design major plant upgrades and perform plant undesigns and redesigns.
• Handle multiple projects concurrently with accuracy.
