Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to craft broadband system designs and support detailed CAD/GIS work. You’ll collaborate with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering to ensure designs meet Cable One standards and are delivered on time.

The role requires familiarity with ESRI GIS tools, fiber/HFC design, and strong communication. This position supports remote work options and overall network expansion efforts.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 5+ years related experience; Outside plan design, construction, or GIS experience preferred.
• Proficient with ESRI GIS and Schneider design software following Cable One standards.
• Understanding of cable design and HFC/Fiber symbology.
• Familiarity with telecom outside plant equipment, design and construction techniques.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting and create complete construction packets.
• Read walkout information accurately and maintain design records.
• Update as-builts as construction is completed and release areas.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology when required.
• Create complex fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Ensure fiber availability and determine reinforcement needs.
• Design major plant upgrades and perform plant undesigns/redesigns.
• Prioritize multiple projects with accuracy.
