Job summary
Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to design broadband plant extensions and support detailed engineering using CAD and GIS tools. You will collaborate with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering to meet Cable One standards and deliver complete design packages.
The role requires an associate degree with 5+ years of related experience, strong GIS/CAD skills, and a solid understanding of HFC and fiber design. Remote work is possible for qualified candidates in listed states.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent with 5+ years related experience; outside plant design or GIS experience preferred.
- Proficient in GIS applications (ESRI) and Schneider design software per Cable One standards.
- Understanding of cable design and HFC/Fiber symbology; familiarity with telecom outside plant equipment.
Responsibilities
- Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
- Perform base drafting and read walkouts.
- Update as-builts as construction completes and releases area.
- Provide complete construction build packets with full deliverables.
- Create fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits; arrange reinforcement requirements.
