Job summary

Cable One is hiring a OSP Designer II to create cost-effective broadband designs using CAD/GIS tools. The role collaborates with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering to deliver design services and maintain design standards.

Ideal candidate has an Associate degree and 5+ years in outside plant design or GIS, with strong ESRI and cable design knowledge. Remote work option available for qualified candidates across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with 5+ years of related experience or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Experience outside plant design, construction, or GIS is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ESRI GIS and Cable One design standards.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting.
• Accurately read walkout information.
• Update as-builts as construction is completed and areas are released.
• Provide complete construction build packet with full design deliverables on time.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology when required.
• Create complex fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Determine fiber availability and reinforcement requirements.
• Design major plant upgrades and redesigns as needed.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy and prioritization.
