Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to create broadband designs cost-effectively while maintaining standards. You will use CAD/GIS tools, coordinate with operations and engineering, and support detailed design deliverables for multiple ongoing projects.

The role requires an associate degree with 5+ years of related experience, strong GIS knowledge, and familiarity with telecom outside plant concepts. Remote work options are available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with 5+ years related experience; outside plan design or GIS experience preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of GIS applications such as ESRI and Schneider design software per Cable One standards.
• Intermediate understanding of cable design and HFC/Fiber symbology.
• Familiarity with telecom outside plant equipment, design, and construction techniques.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting and read walkout information accurately.
• Update as-builts as construction is completed.
• Provide complete construction build packet with full design deliverables.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology.
• Create complex fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Assess fiber availability and reinforcement requirements.
• Design major plant upgrades and perform plant undesigns/redesigns.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy.
